Mike Stacey
Non-executive director

  • Became a shareholder and non-executive director of Gas2 Ltd in 2006
  • PhD chemical engineer with 40 years’ experience in process development, cryogenics and in the international oil and gas business
  • Founded the UK oil and gas facilities development consulting company Granherne in 1984 and grew the company internationally
  • Sold Granherne in 1996 to The M. W. Kellogg Co. retaining an executive role until 2000 with KBR and Granherne
  • Invested in Petrofac in 2001 and established Petrofac Engineering in the UK; as vice chairman of Petrofac Ltd was involved in its successful IPO in 2005
  • Held various engineering and management roles in oil & gas production facilities, gas separation and cryogenics contractors and oil companies, including Petrocarbon Developments, Burmah Oil Co., Air Products and Chemicals Inc.

Saad Bargach
Non-executive director

  • Became a non-executive director of Gas2 Ltd. in February 2008
  • Joined the Lime Rock Partners team in 2006 as managing director
  • Prior to joining the firm, he worked for more than 23 years at Schlumberger. Most recently, he served as the company’s chief information officer (CIO) and, from July 2004 to March 2006, as President of Well Completions & Productivity. During his long career at Schlumberger, Saad also served as President of Consulting & Systems Integration for SchlumbergerSema in several European locations; the President of the Drilling & Measurements division with worldwide responsibility for drill bits, directional drilling, measurements-while-drilling, and logging-while-drilling services; and the Cairo-based President, Oilfield Services for Africa and Near East.
  • Has degrees in both Electrical Engineering (BSc) and Control Systems (MSc).

Professor Peter Robertson
Non-executive director

  • Appointed as non-executive director of Gas2 in January 2012.
  • Appointed as Vice-Principal and Pro Vice-Chancellor (Research and Commercialisation) at Robert Gordon University in September 2006.
  • 2000 -  2006  held the Chair of Energy and Environmental Engineering in the School of Mechanical and Offshore Engineering at RGU where he  established the multidisciplinary Centre for Research in Energy and the Environment.
  • Currently a non-executive director of the Satrosphere Science Centre.
  • A member of the Universities Scotland Research and Knowledge Exchange Committee (2006- present).
  • Formerly a Director of Short Term Scientific Missions for European COST Action 540, “PHONASUM-Photocatalytic Technologies and Novel Nanosurfaces Materials.
  • A member of the editorial board of the International Journal of Photoenergy and Invited Editor of The Handbook of Environmental Chemistry.
  • Peter is a Chartered Engineer, Chartered Scientist and Chartered Chemist, a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry, the Institute of Chemistry in Ireland and the Energy Institute.

Trevor Burgess
Non-executive director

  • Appointed as non-executive director of Gas2 in January 2012.
  • Managing Director for Lime Rock Partners since 2009 and is based in Aberdeen, UK.
  • Leads their oilfield technology investment strategy and serves on the board of six other oilfield technology companies.
  • Prior to joining Lime Rock, Mr. Burgess had 30 years of international experience with Schlumberger, Baker Hughes and Expro in senior marketing, technology and operations roles.
  • Holds a doctorate in mathematics from Oxford University.
